BIPAC’s Social Media and Internet Campaigns

10/27/2010

In the 2010 election cycle, BIPAC fully committed to aggressively engage in independent expenditure and issue advocacy campaigns as a result of the Citizens United v. FEC Supreme Court decision earlier this year.  A new political programs division was created and charged with building this effort by working closely with state partners and with other business organizations.  In addition to this effort, we have also created and will run BIPAC’s new social media efforts.

This new engagement in social media activities reinforces a point we have made many times with how we are deploying our political programs.  We must communicate with voters, BIPAC members and the business community in the medium THEY choose and want to have a conversation in, not the other way around.

These new online efforts include this blog, our Facebook page and Twitter alias @BIPAC.

We will be posting new articles regarding all of the activity areas of BIPAC on these new sites.  You will receive unique insight into national politics that only BIPAC’s president and CEO Greg Casey delivers and political analysis from one of the most knowledgeable individuals on congressional races in the country, Bernadette Budde.  I will also regularly contribute stories on BIPAC’s political programs.  Frequent posts from the Prosperity Project and PAC services will also be highlighted.

One regular section on the blog that we look forward to will be the regular contribution from our state partners. These state partners know more about campaigns, candidates, insight and what is really happening on the ground than any national organization in our great nation’s capital does. I am confident their insight and expertise will make the state section a must read.

We encourage you to read and comment on our posts, send us DM’s or @replies on Twitter, “like” us on Facebook and to share any of our new sites with your friends and coworkers. To leave you with a bit of a tease on an upcoming announcement – like, read or start following us today so you can be among the first to learn about a first in American politics that BIPAC will achieve this election.
